A GENERAL RISES ABOVE FAILURES

A general is not without his failures. 

Proverbs 24:16 ESV

for the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.

WHAT MAKES A GENERAL ?

▪️Becoming a general is a combination of your success, victories and failures.

What makes a General : 

 FAILURES + VICTORIES = GROWTH 

▪️If you can't show me your pit falls as a general then I wonder if you were really one.

▪️What makes you a general is your ability to pull out of every pit fall regardless of how many times you fell.

Generals have staying power : RESILIENCE 

▪️Generals are, “ never say die people"

They fall and get back up again. They never give up 

▪️You are not a general because you don't have short comings, what makes you a general is despite your short comings you still come out on top.

▪️In the kingdom we don't celebrate failures but failures are part of the raw materials that God uses to build strong generals. 

 It is not about failure , But rising above the circumstances of life.

2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

God uses weakness , to show is great Strength 

▪️A general is a man that has gone through the process and understands what it takes.

James 1:12 KJV

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

SUFFERING ~ PERSEVERANCE = CHARACTER

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 

(25] And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 

RUN TO WIN THE PRIZE 

▪️Stop considering the failures of yesterday, look beyond where you are, rise up and move to your next level. 

▪️For every kingdom general out there it is not over until you win.

▪️Winners never quit and quitters never win.  Hold on by faith and keep moving.

God uses pitfalls to build strength 

Isaiah 43:2 KJV

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. 

 MEANING : 

When we go through rivers of difficulty, we will either drown or grow stronger as we learn to keep our heads above the water. If you try to make it with your own strength, you will likely drown. If you invite the Lord to go with you, he will be in the river with you and teach you how to navigate the treacherous waters

Through fire And water, God will lead you out!

▪️From these two scriptures you will discover that ignorance destroys more people than the devil itself.  

▪️The scripture didn't say my people are destroyed because of satanic attack, it only says that my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. 

▪️What makes satan powerful is your ignorance. In other words satan is as powerful as your ignorance.

▪️The more you grow in the knowledge of the word of God, then you will see how insignificant the devil is in messing up with your life or destiny.

▪️Satan is as powerful as you allow him through your ignorance.  

▪️Every true child of God must press for the knowledge of God's word.  It is written

John 8:32 (KJV)  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

▪️It is the knowledge of God's makes you free from every form of captivity.

▪️Knowledge is the medicine that cures the infirmity of ignorance.

And he said unto him, If your presence go not with me, carry us not up behind. 

▪️There is nothing that is as assuring like the presence of God. 

▪️All you ever need to succeed in life is wrapped in the presence of God. 

▪️There is rest, peace, joy, prosperity and protection in the presence of God. 

▪️A man that carries God's presence is secured from evil. 

Obstacles and hindrances give way at the presence of God. 

Psalms 114:3-7 (UKJV)  The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. 

The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. 

What ailed you, O you sea, that you fled? you Jordan, that you were driven back? 

All of you mountains, that all of you skipped like rams; and all of you little hills, like lambs? 

Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; 

There is no obstacles anywhere that can stand the presence of God. 

As believers we must ensure that we become authentic carriers of his presence. 

The storms of life submits to the presence of God. 

Even in this busy world you must ensure that you seek out time to be a man or woman of his presence. 

Spend quality time with God on a daily basis to ensure that you carry the fragrance of his presence wherever you go. 

The presence of God is toxic to demonic spirits. It destroys demonic atmosphere and establishes the atmosphere of the kingdom of God wherever you go. 

The presence of God is the asset of a believer. A life without the presence of God is a disaster waiting to happen. 

Apostolic decree:

May you become an authentic carrier of the presence of God in Jesus name.

Proverbs 24:6 (UKJV)  For by wise counsel you shall make your war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety. 

You may be as anointed as Moses but you still need the counsel of Jethro to survive.

No matter how highly placed you are you must be humble enough to receive counsel from whosoever God has sent to you.

Don't be too spiritual or anointed to ignore the counsel of those you feel that are lesser to you in position or spiritually.

God can use anybody to be of help you even if they are not up to your standard.

Jethro did not speak to God face to face, he didn't have the spiritual experience Moses had. Yet he was the one God used to rescue the ministry of Moses.

We must be careful of those we dispise.

They may not look like it but they may be the people that God will use to help us. 

Nobody has the gift of all knowledge, we only know in part.

The wisdom that you are looking for may be placed in a person that is not up to your standard. 

If you must survive the times that we are in you must be opened to counsel.

The scripture says in the multitude of counsel there is safety.

Men must learn to listen to their wives. Even learn to listen to the wisdom that comes from your children.

If you can humble yourself enough to receive counsel, then your safety will be guaranteed.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. [11] But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

▪️Money simply means exchange of value.

The question is how valuable are you?

What value can you give in exchange for money?

What value have you created that will attract people to pay you for?

People are willing to pay for the problem you solve not the problem you create.

If God has raised you to meet the spiritual needs of men, the people you ministered to will also be willing to respond to you with material things or money in exchange for the value you have added to their lives. 

If you are called into the ministry the first thing you must pay the price to posses is spiritual capacity.

Develop yourself spiritually, study the word of God, pray, fast and learn how to hear the voice of God.

Your meat as a minister is in your calling.

If you want to eat the meat of ministry you must learn to build spiritual capacity to solve difficult problem.

The true labour of a minister is to labour on how to walk with God.

1 Corinthians 3:9 (KJV)  For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

A true minister must build capacity in his walk with God.

A minister is also to labour in word and doctrine.

1 Timothy 5:17 (KJV)  Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

When you build capacity in the word of God you will also be rewarded adequately.

Every labourer is worthy of his wages. 

There is no food for lazy man. 

If you labour to be valuable in your field of calling money will surely come to you in abundance.

🛑 Psalms 102:13 (KJV)  Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

Favour helps to advance one's life and destiny, favour gives speed. 

Exodus 9:5 KJV

And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.

A day of favour can cancel fourty years of labour.  When favour is in  your life it will make it looks as if you are smarter than others but the truth remains that it is not your smartness it is simply favour that is at work. 

When God wants to advance his children he grants them favour.  In a single night God turn the economy of Egypt to the Israelite by favour.

Job 14:13 ESV

Oh that you would hide me in Sheol, that you would conceal me until your wrath be past, that you would appoint me a set time, and remember me!

It is favour that causes men to give to you unhindered. Favour is an attractor of good things. 

Esther 2:15 KJV

Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her.

God is saying that your time of favour has come.

Psalms 5:12 (KJV)  For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

The Lord is set to surround you with favour this season. Everywhere you turn you shall find favour.

I decree that the Lord shall overtake you with his.Favour in Jesus name.

🔹It has been confirmed that for every rise there is a price. 

🔹No one rises by a sudden flight. 

🔹To reach the prize, you must press for it. 

🔹Those who rise to the top don’t do so by chance but by fight. 

🔹There is nothing of value that is cheap. 

🔹Every time you see anything that is without cost, it is also without value.

For instance, when a man carries a lady into his house without a proper meeting with her parents in order to pay her dowry, it confirms that the value her life holds in his eyes is zero.

 I used the word ‘carries’, not ‘marries’ because there is a difference between marriage and carriage. 

And since the woman has no value in the eyes of the man, he can slap her and beat the hell out of her. He would not care for her mother or father. Why? He got the woman very cheaply. 

🔹But if he pursued the lady, and she gave him a little tough time before saying ‘yes’ to him; if he paid some price on her head, engaged her parents, endured all the procedures of marriage and answered all the questions parents would ask their potential son-in-law, then he would value her.

🔳 Where there is no price, there is no worth.

◾️Beloved, if you want to leave the ground level in life and reach high up, there is a cost, a price to pay. Do all you can to pay the price and you will get there!

Remember this: Where there is no price, there is no worth.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

2. Ask God for the grace to pay the price; then pay it.

3. Refuse to allow your flesh, or people to bend your principles.

🦋 FOCUS OF TODAYS TEACHING : 

It pays to serve God but it cost to serve the devil.

It has been confirmed that wrong desires are the foundation for a person's destruction; a person's wrong passion is the foundation for his temptation.

 That is why you must war against any wrong passion trying to creep into your life so that the devil does not use it as bait against you.

Some people's wrong passion or area of weakness is money. They love money like Judas Iscariot. When the devil wanted to destroy Judas, he tempted him with money ( John 10:6). 

For others, it is immorality. When he wanted to pull down David, he used a woman ( 2 Samuel 11:1-5).

What an animal loves is what is used to kill it. What an animal loves to eat is the bait that is used to trap it and kill It.

Beloved, sinful pleasure comes with a cost. It pays to serve God but it cost to serve the devil. 

There is no compromise without cost and there is no sinful  pleasure without a consequence, both in time and in eternity.

A person drinking alcohol may be excited at the moment but after a short time, he loses control over himself. After a while, it begins to affect his marriage and family, then his health which may lead to his death.

People have lost their jobs, destinies and lives on account of immoral affairs, stealing, etc.

Beloved, ask yourself, is that pleasure you are indulging in today worth the pay? Is that compromise worth the cost? Think about it!

Remember this: It pays to serve God but it cost to serve the devil
